POSTPARTUM DOULA & NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST
4 Hour Minimum Shifts
WHAT IS A POSTPARTUM DOULA:
As a postpartum doula I care for mom and her family during the first three months following birth or the fourth trimester. I nurture the family with a loving heart and hands, meeting you where you are, offering non-judgmental support while providing the calm environment parents need to bond with their newborn and help ease baby’s transition into the world.
I educate the family by modeling behavior, observing family systems and offering insight. I provide evidence based information on infant feeding and baby care. I support your emotional and physical recovery from childbirth and other issues related to the postpartum period. My extensive training is specific to the many changes families experience following the birth of their baby.
A POSTPARTUM DOULA OFFERS:
Support for mother and partner’s emotional adjustment to parenthood.

Speciality cooking available, upon request, specializing in gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options.
WHAT IS A NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST:
Newborns have a magical unspoken language. They tell us what they need without words. I help you read and understand their cues, what they are saying, and how to respond to their needs. As a Newborn Care Specialist I am trained and skilled in newborn care; bringing my unique expertise, and decades of experience raising children to all aspects of newborn care, parental education, guidance, and support. I assist with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, instruction on newborn sleep patterns, understanding baby’s rhythms, and hands-on baby basics instruction.
A NEWBORN CARE SPECIALIST WILL:
Provide education for the parents.
Address potential issues of concern with the newborn.
Assist mother with feeding issues.
Use skilled and soothing techniques to calm newborns.
Educate parents on reflux/colic issues.
Provide care and instruction for the newborn, including:
Diapering, changing, bathing, swaddling, circumcision care, umbilical cord care, bottle preparation and cleaning, pump sterilization and setup, organizing and maintaining nursery and baby supplies.
