aka the baby whisperer
Hi, I'm Sheri Poe,
I have four grown kids, and I created Om Baby because I struggled as a new mother and didn't want other parents to feel as lost as I did. As a birth doula matchmaker in Los Angeles, I've spent years connecting families with the right support — so you don't have to figure it all out alone.
Om Baby exists so you don't have to figure it all out alone.
Unfortunately, giving birth didn’t come easily for me…
I experienced four miscarriages and was told I would never have children.
But the struggles didn’t end there... My second baby had complex digestive issues, and I struggled to care for them while I was running my businesses all day and raising a toddler!
I experienced new mom exhaustion, sleep deprivation, postpartum depression and anxiety, isolation, and a lack of support as a new mom. At the time, there were no New Parent Guides, Sleep Coaches, or Baby ‘Experts’ available. Just rigid, outdated advice that didn’t instinctually sit right with me.
It was hard. But after baby number 3, I finally started figuring it out…
Suddenly, all my new parent friends and family started to ask for my help and advice. And that's how my true life's work began.

Before Om Baby.
I've created multiple successful health and wellness businesses, including Ryka athletic footwear — the first 'for women, by women' brand — and was one of the first female CEOs in my industry.
I've received honorary doctorate degrees and awards, including the National Female Executives NAFFY Award, and have been featured on Oprah, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and more — all while pregnant and with toddlers!
My ultimate purpose in this life, who I am first and foremost, is a mother.
I want you to imagine…
If everything I listed here sounds like a dream come true — let's make it a reality.
Having a happy, calm, well-rested, well-adjusted baby
Knowing precisely what your baby needs
Enjoying that precious baby without feeling anxious
Feeling confident in your parenting skills
My approach and why it's different.
No two babies are alike.
I have 4 children and have worked with hundreds of babies over the last several decades — and each and every one was different. There is no 'one-size-fits-all' approach. Your baby is 100% unique and they all arrive with different personalities and temperaments.
I observe your baby (virtually or in-person), listen to their cries, read their body language, and determine what everyone needs. Most importantly, I'll help you learn how to speak your baby's language.
The Fourth Trimester is real.
The truth is, when babies arrive, they aren't fully ready to be born. That's why the first 90 days of a baby's life are often called the Fourth Trimester. During this time they are constantly changing — biologically, neurologically, physically, and emotionally — as they adapt to a very different environment.
It takes about 12 weeks for most babies to gradually adjust from the warmth and rhythms of the womb to the sights, sounds, and routines of the outside world.
That's why I provide personalized, in-your-pocket, 1:1 support, so you have an expert to guide you & to call during this period of rapid change!
I also support you as a parent.
There's so much focus on caring for your new baby that most parents forget to take care of themselves! Whether you are a single parent or have a partner — you still need support.
You need to put yourself FIRST. There's a reason flight attendants tell you to put your mask on first.
You need to keep your sanity intact and feel calm and rested so YOU can be a calm presence for your baby.
You don't need to figure out parenting on your own.
I may be the 'Baby Whisperer'… but after we work together, YOU will be the
whisperer for YOUR baby.
